My mission is to make the world of ballet more accessible to all, and to encourage more to find joy in moving their bodies through the art of ballet.
My name is Stephanie Maiorano, I’m a principal dancer and international ballet coach!
Performing as a principal dancer with the San Diego Ballet is thrilling enough alone, but it wasn’t until I began coaching dancers of all ages that I found a new passion though sharing the importance of tapping into your inner dancer.
In 2020 when the world shut down I needed a way to stay in shape so I would be ready to jump back onstage once theaters opened up again. I turned to Zoom ballet lessons. They helped me not only keep in performance shape, but allowed me to maintain all the mental and emotional benefits I would get through moving to music in a studio.
Once I saw it was possible to continue to learn and grow through this new avenue, I discovered an entire community of dancers who like me thrived with online lessons! 4 years later I have taught over 100 students through the online platform from all over the world of all ages and levels.
My lessons are 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or a full hour. After our free consultation I can determine the lesson plan that is right for your specific goals! My lessons range from stretch classes, pointe classes, beginning to advance barre work, center work, and more. Every dancer is different and it’s important that you have the class that is right for you!
While each lesson is specifically curated for each dancer’s individual needs, my daily dancers fall within three categories
Seeking a fulfilling recreational activity, exploring new physical and artistic expressions, and reconnecting with their inner ballerina.
Aspiring to enhance their technique, prepare for competitions, tips for auditions, or pursue a professional ballet career.
Gently introduced to the world of ballet through creative movement and musical exploration.
Important?
Everyone was born to dance, and with ballet we have a method to put that into practice.
Ballet is beautiful but it also has amazing health, spiritual, psychological and emotional benefits!
Like most sports, dancing improves heart and lung function, muscular strength, endurance, motor fitness, and weight management. Dancing is also known to increase bone strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and balance.
Studies show that dancing along to music even for five minutes can boost happiness and improve creative-thinking patterns.
Ballet provides the perfect structure for us to fully embody music and to reach our full potential physically and emotionally.

Ballet for adults is the most exciting for me to teach, because it spans such a wide range of dancers. From first time lesson takers, to retired professional dancers, dancing ballet as an adult is such a wonderful way to improve our minds, bodies and souls. Personally I find ballet is far more beneficial than going to the gym for a work out and certainly more fun!
Why are private ballet lessons so beneficial to adults?
I have the unique ability as a professional ballet dancer to really help this group in an important time in their journey. Breaking into the ballet world professionally is tough, but not impossible! I can help give my first hand experience on how to make these dreams become a reality.
In my journey to becoming a professional, what really helped propel me forward in technique and artistry were my one on one weekly private lessons. Here are some reasons why its so important for young dancers to have personal private lessons aside from group classes:
Overall, private ballet lessons can provide aspiring young dancers with a focused, personalized learning experience that enhances their technical proficiency, artistic expression, and confidence as dancers.
Private ballet lessons can be highly beneficial for little dancers, offering a range of advantages tailored to their developmental needs. It’s a fun opportunity to explore and play in a structured atmosphere! Here are a few benefits for little ones to have personalized private ballet lessons:
Additionally, private lessons can be conducted at the child’s own pace and comfort level, ensuring a positive and enjoyable learning experience.
Overall, private ballet lessons can provide young children with a nurturing and focused environment in which to explore their passion for dance, develop essential skills, and build confidence in themselves as dancers.
