My mission is to make the world of ballet more accessible to all, and to encourage more to find joy in moving their bodies through the art of ballet.
My name is Stephanie Maiorano, I’m a principal dancer and international ballet coach!
Performing as a principal dancer with the San Diego Ballet is thrilling enough alone, but it wasn’t until I began coaching dancers of all ages that I found a new passion though sharing the importance of tapping into your inner dancer.
In 2020 when the world shut down I needed a way to stay in shape so I would be ready to jump back onstage once theaters opened up again. I turned to Zoom ballet lessons. They helped me not only keep in performance shape, but allowed me to maintain all the mental and emotional benefits I would get through moving to music in a studio.
Once I saw it was possible to continue to learn and grow through this new avenue, I discovered an entire community of dancers who like me thrived with online lessons! 4 years later I have taught over 100 students through the online platform from all over the world of all ages and levels.
My lessons are 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or a full hour. After our free consultation I can determine the lesson plan that is right for your specific goals! My lessons range from stretch classes, pointe classes, beginning to advance barre work, center work, and more. Every dancer is different and it’s important that you have the class that is right for you!
While each lesson is specifically curated for each dancer’s individual needs, my daily dancers fall within three categories
Seeking a fulfilling recreational activity, exploring new physical and artistic expressions, and reconnecting with their inner ballerina.
Aspiring to enhance their technique, prepare for competitions, tips for auditions, or pursue a professional ballet career.
Gently introduced to the world of ballet through creative movement and musical exploration.
Important?
Everyone was born to dance, and with ballet we have a method to put that into practice.
Ballet is beautiful but it also has amazing health, spiritual, psychological and emotional benefits!
Like most sports, dancing improves heart and lung function, muscular strength, endurance, motor fitness, and weight management. Dancing is also known to increase bone strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and balance.
Studies show that dancing along to music even for five minutes can boost happiness and improve creative-thinking patterns.
Ballet provides the perfect structure for us to fully embody music and to reach our full potential physically and emotionally.
